THANKSGIVING FOR TODAY, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 25, 2016!

THANKSGIVING FOR TODAY, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 25, 2016!
Take time to think.....Christmas is celebrated in honor of a loving God who chose to send his son to a world swamped in sin.  Jesus came t take all that sin on himself and save a people who without would just die because of their wick ways.  Then he dies upon a cross forgiving all of our sins.  But he had to go back home and prepare a place for us.  He sent the HOLY SPIRIT to comfort us in our times of need.  Is that not a great sacrifice.  We have to live us to his expectations of us as a people.  All are invited!  No matter what you are wearing, no matter how deep you are in sin, no matter whether you think you have gone too far - no such think exist, COME AS YOU ARE!!!   I am ever thankful that no matter how low I get, the Holy Spirit will comfort me and bring me back up!  I am ever thankful how deep I get in a bad situation the HOLY SPIRIT will comfort me and bring me back to my senses to come on out.  I ever thankful no matter how improbable my finances get, the HOLY SPIRIT gives me the strength to endure and last.  I am ever grateful for the friends, known and unknown, that the Lord surrounds me with to give me strength!  I am ever grateful for my family and their enduring love and strength!  GLORY! ALLELULIA!

THANKSGIVING FOR TODAY, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2016

FOR WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL?

I thank my almighty God for his blessings.  I am now going through an allergic reaction to an antibiotic.  I thought my was throat was closing. But God stopped the selling of my throat.  BUT, the devil saw fit to swell my lips, starting on Wednesday.  I took the stupid antibiotic for sinusitis.  I get sinusitis every other month, UGH!!!!   BUT, God is keeping me day by day!

When we go through things with faith and conviction, we are not startled.  We just plow on through because we are victorious in the HOLY SPIRIT.  I tell you Saints I have gone through a lot.  But I thank the HOLY SPIRIT for comfort and victory in each and every situation.   THANK YOU JESUS!  I fully believe we have the POWER in us to direct our thoughts to positive places so that we can cope and not cope but be VICTORIOUS!

I am trying each and every day to let my walk be an encouragement to someone.  If I only reach 1 per day, I still run on in GRAND victory.  I walk in a faith that no weapon that can be prosperous against me.  I stand in the assurance the whatever comes up against me I WILL WIN!  I always say "THIS TOO SHALL PASS".

I am in the midst of writing my dissertation.  Please pray for me, saints.  I suffered many writers' block due to the disturbances of my memory by the Lupus AND by the dialysis, I do five times a week.  I have wanted to quit on many occasions.  BUT, I push on saints.  So, you may ask why are you still taking classes.  Tutoring is my passion I want to be the best tutor I can be.  I want to do a study the use of CULTURALLY RELEVANT TUTORING to enhance the academic success of minorities and socio-economically disadvantaged students!!!  Culturally relevant pedagogy and culturally responsive teaching have been proven to be successful in the classrooms of minorities and socio-economically disadvantaged students!!! BUT, we have resistance by states, districts, teachers, etc.  The teachers say the state mandates levy so much on them, they do not have time to adjust.  BUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS NOT WORKING!  This just shows those teachers are not innovators and must be transferred to OTHER classrooms.  The traditional European system is not working for our minorities and socio-economically disadvantaged students!!!  I actually encourage myself, as the song says.  I indulge myself in gospel music to wash me in the blood of Jesus.  I love that son THE GOD IN ME!  THANK YOU JESUS!  That word explains my successes in life.  Jesus has brought me a mighty long way!!!  I thank him with all my heart, body, soul and being.  He has picked me up on many occasions.  I love another song my nieces and nephew (JAMEKA KYLE, ANDREA JACKSON, & JERMAINE MITCHEL)  would sing in church:  I AM HIS CHILD.  That song says "I may not be the best at anything or have the best of everything, but I am happy to his child."  Saints, that is me.  THANK YOU JESUS!  ALLELUIA!  GLORRRRRRRRRRAY!   THANKS TO MALCOLM SPEED FOR PINNING THOSE ANOINTED WORDS.

ALL FOR NOW.  So much to say!

THANKSGIVING FOR TODAY, OCTOBER 29, 2016

This week I have been activated on the transplant list with Vanderbilt Hospital.  I am so excited.  I am also listed on the University of Alabama transplant list.  But, I am satisfied with dialysis because I would feel horrible without it.  I thank God for this life-giving invention.

THIS IS MY STORY.  GOD HAS BEEN SO GOOD TO ME!

My kidneys were affected by me having system lupus erythematosus.  In 1989 the doctors noted that I was spilling protein in my urine - a sign of kidney disease.  Finally made the decision and had the fistula installed in my left arm in August 2011.

A surgeon makes a fistula by using MY own blood vessels.  My artery was connected to my vein.  My vein grew bigger because of increased blood flow.  The vein is beer so it can handle many needle insertions.  (https://www.kidney.org/atoz/content/hemocatheter)

In December 2012 my doctor made a mistake and punctured my artery in my fistula.  I was put in the hospital.   Therefore a dialysis catheter was placed in my right upper chest.  I started dialysis while I was in the hospital.  Then on to the dialysis center, 3 days per week.  I was so sick.  Just wanted to sleep all the time.  But eventually went back to work full time.

In January 2013 I started training for home hemodialysis.  I was so excited to do dialysis at home.  But, Irv and I were in a rollover wreck where our Titan hydroplaned on a wet University Drive near Providence.  WOW.  He was taking me to sign up for Medicare.  You only have 60 days to sign up after the start of the dialysis.  It the only disease covered by law to paid by Medicare.  I was upset to learn that 30 months after being on dialysis, Medicare becomes the primary.  I had Blue Cross and Blue Shield for 28 years and it is now secondary.  UGH!!

Eventually, the dialysis catheter became infected.  UGH!  My blood pressure was 65/35.  My nurse told me to go to the emergency room ASAP.  I was hospitalized, again.  The catheter was removed and I was treated with antibiotics because I was so septic.  I was ignorant and did not realize how sick I was until 3 years later.  Some people die from being sepsis.  My husband was worried about me but I told him the Lord will handle it.  He kept telling me it was serious.  By no means did I comprehend what he was telling me.  I was in a wheelchair for months.

Sepsis is a life-threatening condition in which the body is fighting a severe infection that has spread via the bloodstream. If a patient becomes "septic," they will likely have low blood pressure leading to poor circulation and lack of blood perfusion of vital tissues and organs. (http://www.emedicinehealth.com/sepsis_blood_infection/article_em.htm).

But I continued on with dialysis.  I returned to work.  But, I was so exhausted and weak.  I made the decision to retire and concentrate on my health.  RETIREMENT - THANK YOU JESUS!  I retired in January 2014.  I started work for Calhoun Community College as a part-time Math Lab Assistant (tutor).  I have loved my job.  I am able to help and love what I do.  I am also working on my dissertation with Northcentral University.  My goal is to complete in 2017.

NOW FOR THE FUTURE!

My first step is to find a live donor.  That's the hard part.  If a person wants to be a live donor they can follow the directions below:

Those who want to donate to a kidney patient via VANDERBILT can call 1-615-936-0695, option 2, to see if you are eligible and fill out a donor form at http://www.vanderbilthealth.com/transplant/29111.

Those who want to donate to a kidney patient via UAB can call 1-888-822-7892, or (205) 975-9200 to see if you are eligible and fill out a donor form at https://www.uabmedicine.org/patient-care/treatments/kidney-transplant/donor-form.

The second step is to fundraise for the money need to buy my medicine after the transplant.

There are many sites to fundraise.

HELP HOPE LIVE

How It Works
From initial discussions about starting a campaign, through active phases of fundraising and payment of uninsured expenses, the HelpHOPELive Team will be with you every step of the way.
Starting a Campaign
Starting a fundraising campaign with HelpHOPELive is an easy and effective way to raise money for uninsured medical expenses. To get started, just tell us a little about the reason for the fundraising campaign using our online campaign request or call us at 800.642.8399 and we'll help you make the best choice for your unique situation.

Fundraising
From the initial point of contact, we'll connect you with one of our expert Fundraising Coordinators who will work closely with you, your family and friends to identify a fundraising plan of action that fits your individual needs. Our fundraising plans often include ideas for community events, online engagement and social fundraising - whatever works best for the patient and their network of support. Funds raised through these efforts come to HelpHOPELive where they are held in a regional restricted fund in honor of the patient for the region where the patient lives, together with other funds raised in that region, and are available throughout the patient's life to pay uninsured expenses.

Paying Medical Costs
Our staff manages all the funds raised and pays bills directly. Once your campaign starts receiving donations, getting expenses paid is as simple as submitting a Fund Request Form with the appropriate backup (bill, receipt) to HelpHOPELive. In an effort to respond to our patient's urgent needs, our Financial Department issues checks weekly.

THANKSGIVING FOR TODAY, OCT. 23, 2016

Our God is a good God and a just God.  I thank him for Grace, and Mercy.  I thank God for Dialysis.  The feeling you have before you do on dialysis is horrible.  You can't sleep. You're super tired. You are unable to stand comfortably for more than 30 seconds.  You feel like your body is dying minute by minute.  Your body is full of trash your kidneys should have filtered out of your blood. You wake up early because you really did not sleep.  You go to work - putting one foot before the other.  Your mind is hampered and your thinking is slow or non-existent.  But when your numbers reach a certain low you are put on dialysis.  This machine cleans your blood as prescribed by your doctor.  I was still going to work.  Started dialyzing in December 2012.  But finally retired in January 2014.  In-center dialysis was so harsh on me!  Ugh!!!  I started home hemodialysis in February 2013.  I now dialyze Monday through Friday evenings 6-10 p.m.  Therefore my whole life is rearranged.  Hard for me to do anything on those evenings.  If I am severely tired and I miss a night I always make it up on Saturday nights.  But I am able to lead a comfortable life.  It is nowhere near perfect.  I am still tired but I manage as I did when I was wrecked with active Lupus.  I thank God for strength!  I thank him for leading me and helping me walk one step at a time and picking me up when needed!  AMEN!

  THANK YOU JESUS!  GLORY! ALLELUIA!

Introduced me to caring, interesting, intelligent, encouraging, challenging and down right good people. I had a new family in each state! THANKSGIVING FOR TODAY, 09-30-16

I am so thankful for another month of work for the Lord.  He sustained me throughout the entire month.  He has prepared me to face the next month, October.  I can go forth and do his will.  Thank you, Lord for stamina, strength, courage, encouragement, and healing my body.  I thank you for helping think straight and accomplish your will.  I enjoy tutoring and am glad you have sent me tutees to serve.  I serve with humility to represent you with your strength.  Even when I am extremely exhausted you put one of my feet in front of the other.  Thank you so much for mobility.  I am so glad that you love me enough to always have me on your mind, comforting me in time of my need, and always assuring me I can even when I feel like I can't.  I am so thankful for my family and their understanding, encouragement, and help.  You know you are loved when family and friends are there when you need them and even when you don't cheering for you to succeed.
Lord, I pray for all who are heavy ladened in their minds.  I pray for those who are experiencing pain.  I pray for those who are pursuing further education to get a better job.  I pray for parents who are doing the best they can and moving on up in spite of their circumstances.  I pray for those searching.  They are not sure you exist or if you can help in their situation.  I pray all see possibilities beyond the prevailing circumstances.  In the name of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit I pray.  AMEN!
THANK U JESUS!  GLORY!  HALLELUJAH!!!!!

THANKSGIVING FOR TODAY!

Yesterday when I left work I was able to walk down the steps.  This is significant.  At one point I would have had to walk up and down the ramp.  Lupus patients will understand because of the joint pain experienced when the knees are flexed.  Dialysis patients will understand because of the exhaustion experienced all the time.  I am both the lupus patient and dialysis patient.
I am so thankful to God for those days that I can walk up and down the steps with little effort.  The drive to live as normal as possible in spite of Lupus and Dialysis is a daily goal for me.  Despite what is going on around me the Lord ensures I am comforted in my time of need.  THANK YOU JESUS!!!
Every day these patients are elated to accomplish at least one task.  The joy of being normal is a daily quest.  It is also hard to expalin to others why you look so good but feel so horrible.  So you fight two battles, one with your body and one with family, friends, strangers, etc.
So yesterday when I walked up and down those steps I was truly elated and said THANK YOU JESUS as I walked to my car!

THANKSGIVING FOR TODAY:

I thank God first of all for peace of mind.  He has taken care of this old body carefully.  I am able to accomplish a lot of things I could not do while I was sick.  I can't believe sinusitis and bronchitis can tackle me like that.  I was unable to eat, sleep, or walk regularly.  But God sat fit to bring me back one more time.  I am so appreciative of all the prayers I received.  I could feel the Holy Spirit embracing me throughout it all.  I just let him minister to my soul.  When people take the time to pray for a prayer request they have no idea how much God uses them tremendously.  I know for myself I had to learn to reach out to others for prayers to touch and agree on God's healing or blessings.  So thanks to all the Twitter and Facebook friends who pray when I have a prayer request.  All feelings of aloneness are gone in that time of need.
I also thank God for making me strong enough to return to tutoring.  Tutoring is my passion.  I really like helping a child succeed academically.  It builds their confidence and propels them to higher heights.  I just feel used by God every time I am in the tutoring mode.   Thank you, Jesus, for getting me back to work at Calhoun Community College.  I miss my students. I am so happy to report more students are coming to the Math Lab for help.  We have to have these kids paying into social security for our retirements. ahahahahahahaahah.   God is so good - thank you!

THOUGHTS - 07-13-16

Just watched the town hall on CNN. My heart is heavy! I know God will make a way. But doubt slips in because I'm asking myself why doesn't all parties have to make changes. When I would visit the detention centers, my heart ached seeing really intelligent boys housed like cattle. The politicians would rather spend more money on prisons owned by their friends than education. They treat young people the same way they treat the vets. If you have mental problems, it should be addressed. But it is so easier to move as far away from the inner city and feel no responsibility at all for the ills of the community. How are we claiming to be a Christian country and we in no way reflect Christ. IJS. What can we do NOW? Unset DAs, judges, politicians who are a part of the problem and provide no solutions. We have groom young people to fill future positions. We form committed to vet each of them And publish a quarterly report of their performance. Start petitions to impeach these guys who don't get it. I have tutored kids from various cultures. Each has desires to be successful. But we beat them down with so much rhetoric as adults. This must STOP. We need committees to rate other public servants such as teachers. If they are unproductive they must go! My son has had some good teachers but thereH are others who need to not be in the profession. They came for the money, was disappointed, and carry a chip on their shoulders. They have to go or change their dispositions. We need to be aware of who is in charge and hold them accountable.

THANKSGIVING FOR TODAY, JUNE 18, 2016:

It is so easy to say you are a Christian. But that walk is a true testament. I have had to rely on the Lord for so much that I don't know of any other help. If you are unable to get out of bed no matter how hard you try, he is there. When You legs won't hold you up, he is there. When you feel like you can't go on, he is there! I thank the Lord for manifesting himself in my life over and over again. He was there so many times I have become comfortable expecting him to be there every time. I call him up and he answers and I let him know my desires and he comes through with an answer every time. THANK YOU JESUS FOR CONSISTENCY, MERCY, GRACE, COMPASSION, EMPATHY AND MORE AND MORE AND MORE!!!!!

THANK YOU, LORD, FOR MEMORY!

When I started dialysis in 2012 I could not remember anything. My mind wandered. there are three numbers on the front of the machine that I must record every 32 minutes. I use to have to look at the screen several times just to get the numbers. Now I can remember all the numbers with one look. The same struggle was with getting the BP. I would have to look at it 3 times before I record all three numbers. I share to encourage you all who are struggling with memory. It does get better! GORY!

THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES, but.......

THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES, but your hope and FAITH IN THE LORD is so much more!  No matter what you are going through our Lord always provide a way out.  No matter how much you are hurt the Lord is always there with Holy Spirit to comfort you.  All your pain and hurt will be healed in the name of Jesus in his time.  Sometimes how we handle our struggles is a TESTIMONY for others.  Let them know that in spite of what you are going through you will praise God through your actions (smiles, walk, talk, attitude, etc.).  One thing about a struggle, it always end in VICTORY IN JESUS!

Be blessed my friend!  JMI

THANKSGIVING FOR TODAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2016.

I am grateful for tiniest things in my life.  This morning I was talking to my husband about the new scarves I had.  I was so excited about the colors, the textures of the materials, the designs, etc.  He said "It doesn't take much to please my wife."  I thought about that.  It's true.  I see beauty, possibilities, etc in everything!  I remember being young and my parents could not buy some things I wanted.  I learned to be satisfied with what I had.  That way my heart was not broken.  If you do not long for things you really don't need you do not miss them.  I learned to be grateful for every little bitty thing in my life or every thing I experienced!

I remember the first time I saw snow in college.  I had so many pictures of snow, on the ground, on buildings, on the streets, anywhere I saw snow I took a picture.  I traveled across the US with my first job.  I was in awe of the architecture I saw in each town.  I took tons of pictures of buildings.  I then saw fall on the east coast and took tons of pictures of the colorful leaves.  I always love just going somewhere and just sitting watching people go through their days.  I had so much fun.

I love watching sports.  It is a true example of people using their God giving gifts to fullest extent possible.  They keep coming back time after time after time.   They do not give up.  That's the fortitude that I want.  Stick to it even when times are hard is what I strive for.  Sometimes I fail, but sometimes I win.  Just love give it my all!

An attitude of gratitude is the best option to ensure you are not crippled by your circumstances.  Just go each day trying to learn something, trying to to smile and make someones day, being in the right attitude to recognize a blessing each day.

THANKSGIVING FOR TODAY, JANUARY 31, 2016.  I thank God for healing all of my scars and repairing my soul.  I thank God for keeping me. I am grateful for the assignments he's given me.  I thank him for allowing me the opportunities afforded me.
